Arc Spraying with Flux-Cored Wires

For a long time the Arc Spraying Technology has provided the possibility of high quality metal coatings to reasonable prices. These possibilities were extended by spraying of two different metals to make pseudoalloys. They can be combined in a way to achieve certain coating properties.

Arc Spraying with flux-cored wires is a further possibility of coating varieties. Flux-cored wired are thin walled small tubes, mostly seamed, filled with auxiliary materials. In the electric arc the consumables are fused and alloy with the tubes’ materials. New layers with new properties which were not possible before result from this.

Presently we are offering:

  • bero-arc thaloy nial 85.15

An excellent strong bonding Nickel-Aluminium-coating. This is used as a bond coat for ceramic coatings and to improve bonding of conventional flame and arc sprayed layers, preferably on annealed base materials.
The operating principle is that the wires’ filling and coating react together exothermically and therefore you reach a large temperature increase of the spraying particles. Partial weldings between spraying particles and substrate result from this. The effect is a considerably improved bonding strength compared to other arc sprayed and conventionally flame sprayed coatings.

  • bero-arc thaloy nicrbsi sp

Wear and corrosion-resistant protecting coatings for chemical apparatus engineering and food processing industry. You can get adhesive strengthes of >50 N/mm2. Micro hardness of the coatings is at 670 HV.

  • bero-arc corthal 35 sp

Dense, corrosion-resistant coating with high abrasion resistance, coating hardness of 830 HV.
There are applications for repairs on spare parts for pumps, mixers in the chemical industry as well as bearings with high strain.

  • bero-arc corthal 55 sp

Harder and slightly more porous than bero-arc corthal 35 sp. The coatings achive a hardness of nearly 1000 HV and can be a substitute for the more expensive molybdenum. The coatings are highly wear and corrosion resistant. Applications are guideways and coating of running rollers for conveyor belts.
